Today we had The Mud Run and it was really fun. We started off by driving to the place and waiting for our turn. I had to get changed into my gear to run in. Then we told that we need to run so we went to the start line, the run started off good, i was running with my friends and we took it nice and slow to enjoy the run and the nice weather. It was really fun doing the activities with friends. We started with jumping on blue mat and then going over some tires then doing a obstacle course. Then we went on to the bouncy castle thing to race all the way to the end. That was super fun. I liked going in to the actual mud this year because we didn’t have mud last year. The rest of the run was fine but the end was super fun because there was foam getting blown at you and water being sprayed at you and that was super cool. At the end I really enjoyed the whole run and would do it again. That is me and Cyrena at the Mud Run.
My Show Day Experience
When the day first started it was normal then we got brought downstairs and sat in front of Room 1 to bless the animals parents of the students had brought in. Then class by class we walked in a big circle to pet each of the animals. I really enjoyed petting all of the animals and hanging out with Sophie’s chicken, Tinkerbell. Then we went from classroom to classroom (first our classroom) looking at all the cool stuff the people had done for their class. Then we went to the hall and checked out some of the projects that placed, there were things like: photography, mini versions of real things (houses, barns etc.), paintings, sculptures and various more things ranging up in difficulty of doing per each grade. Then we went classroom to classroom again checking out all the projects they were doing. My favourite classroom was by far Room 1s habitats for different animals because they were really cool. Then we went out to the domain and went under a fire hose/sprinkler and went to go see the lambs. The lambs were super cute and a great addition to the petting zoo; the petting zoo had: lambs, bunnies, ducks and guinea pigs. (They all were super adorable), There was a tank that you could go in, a fancy car Mr Gray would drive us in. Then a bouncy castle that you could race your friends in. Then we went from classroom to classroom (again) but this time doing activities, like; doing things that we would do as kids and other things. Overall it was a very fun day and I had a good day.
Halloween Writing
For the past few days we have been working on a scary writing prompt, we had complete freedom when it came to what we wanted to write. I decided to make something slightly different, there wasn’t anything outright scary in mine but the setting and idea of it was supposed to be uneasy. I filled the text with hints and little nudges towards the answer. I quite enjoyed writing something like this because it’s a bit out of my comfort zone and I found it fun to try something new. Could you figure it out before it was revealed? Tell me in the comments!
Alternate
I walked into my office job, smoke filling the air. Every day seems to blend in with each other, a classic office job has never been more depressing. Every day is the same; wake up at 6am, go to work at 7am and leave at 8pm. Nothing separates the days at all, sometimes I go to the pub and sit there thinking my life through, not understanding where all the time went, no friends, no family, nothing. Every night I go home and watch a scary movie.
Sometimes I put myself in both people’s shoes, I wonder how it would feel, I mean the only way I feel is by watching these movies. How would it feel to do it? No I’m being insane, I would never do that…
I walked in to the pub, feeling more empty than usually then I saw someone that caught my eye, someone sitting and smoking (I could never afford to smoke sadly) in my spot in the corner of the pub, the grey concrete walls felt like they were falling in on me and the dark blood red carpet felt like it turned to water, he was just sitting there, my dark black hair stood up on my arms and my face turned to a scowl,
‘’You’re sitting in my seat.’’ I said, my lips cracking with each word.
‘’Okay?’’ He responded, lowering his glasses and staring me down.
‘’You wanna fight on it?’’ He asked, the dim lights flickering as everything went silent as he waited for a response. Finally, something to make me feel, make this day separate from the others. I felt excitement enter my veins as we walked outside to the almost pitch black car park. There were no cars there. I threw the first punch, it felt refreshing, he kicked me afterwards and punched me in the nose, blood rushed down my face. It was… refreshing. The fight went on as such. He bought me a drink afterwards when we walked into the pub.
‘’Hey. Get him a nice beer, it’s on me.’’ He gruffed and I sipped it, blood dripping down my face.
The male bartender with dark brown hair and heavy eyebags looked confused and looked at the other bartender who was a blonde woman with smudged dark red lipstick. She looked like she hadn’t had proper food or a shower in a couple of days. She shrugged and answered with a face.
‘’Whatever that will make a sale…’’ She said, clearly creeped out as well. But from what? ‘’What’s wrong with them?’’ I asked the man ‘’I don’t know…’’ He said with his eyes glinting and a small sly grin on his gruff face. ‘’Anyway. Same time tomorrow?’’ He asked, I looked at him and knew what my answer was.

We had that going for the next few weeks, people kept on looking at us weird, maybe it’s all the dried blood and bruises on my face, I don’t know though. One Thursday me and him were fighting again. 2 tattooed men came up to us and asked
‘’What are you doing?’’ They asked, genuinely confused looking.
‘’Fighting’’ I huffed, rolling my eyes and lighting a smoke and then I saw him, the guy I thought was my friend, grab a gun and shoot him with zero empathy in his eyes.
‘’WHAT ARE YOU DOING’’ I shouted, trying to wrestle the gun out of his arms. But the damage was done, one man dead, another man calling the police. I sat there on the ground not fully understanding what happened, ‘’It was him, officer!’’ The man who survived said, pointing at me! ‘’But I didn’t do anything! It was him!’’ I said as I pointed to my friend. ‘’But there is no one there?…’’ The Police man responded, urgency in his dark hooded eyes.
There I was, in a dirty prisoner uniform watching over footage while I saw something horrifying. My friend was.. Me? I was fighting myself, even just watching it was creepy. No wonder people looked at me weird. Then I saw my friend again, with a gun in hand.
‘’Hey man, come on. You know the truth now, just let me take over, I can kill everyone here and set you and I free. We will be FREE. Do you hear me?’’
‘’NO.’’ I said, blocking my ears, rocking back and forth hoping he would just go away. The police man just looked at me, with genuine sympathy in his eyes. He walked out and came back in with a psychiatrist, holding a mirror.
‘’Dissociative identity disorder, D.I.D. for short, it seems his motive and aspirations may have stemmed from too many horror movies that gave him ideas’’ The Psychiatrist said, ‘’He genuinely thinks he didn’t do it, because, well, HE didn’t. It was his other personality’’
‘’Well… If you can fix him by making the killer personality go, then HE can go.’’ ‘’I can’t do that!’’ I said desperately, ‘’He’s always here, he’s here right now, asking me to let him kill all of you so I can run away’’ I sputtered, feeling helpless. I looked down and when I looked up I saw him giving me the gun.
‘’Do it.’’ He said commandingly but with a hint of sympathy in his eyes. The Psychiatrist passed me a mirror and I saw him. I threw it away ‘’That’s not me!’’ I screamed, ‘’That’s him!’’ I grabbed the gun from my friend and put it up to my head. ‘’It’s not ME!’’ I shouted as I pulled the trigger.
BOOM!!
And just like that, it was over. I woke up in the hospital and he never showed up again. Though I still can’t look in mirrors, I’m better now. I found my passion in boxing, winning a couple tournaments and meeting some new friends, but sometimes I still see him standing in giant crowds with the same beer he gave me after our first fight. Smirking. Watching. Waiting…
The Baby-Sitters Club Book: Mary Anne’s bad Luck Mystery
Today I have had a bit of time during class to read our books, I read from page one to page sixty and what happened in the story was that Mary-Anne got a chain mail letter and you had to send it to twenty people or bad luck to you and your friends and family. Mary-Anne decided to not send the letter to twenty people and thought that it was superstitious and false. Little did they know that it was real, all of the club experienced different amounts of bad luck but it all happened. Later on when they were all talking about it they received a charm necklace to protect them all from the bad luck being spread from Mary-Anne so Mary-Anne has to wear it. It doesn’t work at first but it is slowly shifting from horrible luck to just bad luck. I chose this book because I have a couple of the other books and I want to collect them all. Have you read this book before?
My Experience with Maori Instruments
My Experience with Maori Instruments
Earlier this day we had an interesting and musical experience that takes my understanding of Maori history and Maori instruments to the next level. My experience with the Maori instruments was pleasant. I liked the spinning things that made a buzzing noise, the other buzzing one was cool too. I liked how they used to make vibrations using the instruments above the soft spot on a babies head to try and feed information in to the young child. I think it was interesting how each of the musical instruments had their own personality and were like their own person. I think making it like that gave it such this different layer of how it worked and how people use it.
Here is a picture of Bob Bickerton showing us one of the instruments:
The Hierarchy of the Catholic Church
The Hierarchy of the Church is a very important thing, it is the very thing keeping our Church alive. The order of the church gave us the Pope and many other religious leaders. The order of the Church is based on how dedicated you are, how talented you are and how long you have been slowly going up the Church Hierarchy. The order is (going from lowest to highest): Deacons (The public people simply attending the church), Priests (The leader of the Church), Bishops (A mentor and adviser to the priests in the area), Archbishops (They are in charge of the Churches and Priests of an area), Cardinals (They elect the new Pope and act as a counsel of the Church) and lastly the Pope. (The leader of the universal Church and takes care of the religion). Hopefully that sums up the order of the Church and what each role does. Did you know the Order of the Church before this?
Greece Olympics Pick a Path
Lately we have been researching the Olympics and we got to choose a country to research about what happened in the Olympics for them. Me and my buddy Laylah chose Greece as our country and have been researching it thoroughly, from simple small activities about Greece to videos and writing pieces of text for it to research the Olympics for Greece, it has been fun and interesting. We made a google drawing on Greece and used that as a reference for the questions and answers of the Pick a path. Overall this has been very occupying and interesting to use and format the facts I have learnt.
Greece is where the Olympics started (in 776 BC) but also where it ended in 393 AD and took another 1500 years to start back up again. What year and country had your favourite Olympics?
Olympic hat Facts
For an activity I had to make a hat and put facts about the past and current Olympics, it stopped in 393 A.D and did not start back up for another 1,500 yrs. The Olympic torch is a reminder of its Greek origins and how it shows resilience through different events and being stretched to your limits as I implied the Olympics originated in Greece and it started in 776 B.C in Greece. The Olympics is in Paris this year and we are looking forward to all the entertaining events. Are you looking forward to/ currently watching the Olympics?
The Good Samaritan and what it means to be a good Neighbour to Others
We have watched the video of The Good Samaritan many times but we have never discussed what it means, so that’s what I am doing today. We have learnt what it means to be good to your neighbours and who your neighbours are. Your neighbours are the people who will help you in all of your struggles, like in the good Samaritan, some will not be your neighbours even though it seems like they should be helping you; like the Priest and the Levi from the Good Samaritan. But your neighbours can be anyone, but you can also be a neighbour to them too you can help them when they struggle because they would help you in that situation, and thats what being a good neighbour means. What would you do if you were in a similar situation to the good Samaritan, would you help? Or would you be like the Priest and ignore the person?
Netball
Today at reading we have been learning about explanations in writing. I have written about netball and why it is my favourite sport/ interest at the moment. I think personally that I enjoy netball the most out of all the sports I have played in. I also enjoy how all my friends play it and it has breaks at halfway to refresh yourself.
Question 1: How did you get into your sport/interest? All my friends were doing netball for winter sports and I thought it looked fun so I joined as well.
Question 2: What was your first experience with netball? The day before winter sports we did a practice to show people how to play and what to do.
Question 3: What did netball offer you that other sports didn’t? There is no contact in it and it is a competitive sport as well so you can just have fun and not (usually) get hurt. There is also a lot of teamwork in it and good energy.
Question 4: What skills does does a person need for netball? They need to be able to watch the ball to go and catch it and watch the person they are defending so they can just jump in and intercept it. Also you may have to be able to run away from someone or go in front of them. Also jumping and being tall helps get around the people in the other team.
What do you like the most about your interest or sport?
